Are you looking for a role where you can apply your expertise in sourcing and supply chain management to an international company executing large-scale offshore projects?

We are looking for a Buyer to source, negotiate, and purchase equipment and services while ensuring that procurement aligns with project budgets, schedules, and technical requirements. In this role, you will manage the procurement process from tendering to purchase order execution, driving cost-effective and timely procurement while maintaining compliance with company standards and ethical guidelines.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Lead Tendering Process:
    • Understand commercial and contractual requirements and prepare bid packages.
    • Coordinate with relevant departments (engineering, Legal, Asset Integrity) to gather technical inputs.
    • Issue requests for quotations (RFQs) and collect offers from bidders.
    • Analyse bids for compliance with technical, commercial, and contractual criteria.
    • Develop recommendations for bidder selection based on cost, technical compliance, and delivery timelines.
    • Ensure adherence to company procurement processes and compliance rules.
    • Document the full tendering process, including commercial bid evaluations and purchase recommendations.
  • Contractual & Commercial Negotiations:
    • ​​​​​​​Develop package strategies in collaboration with Package Managers.
    • Lead negotiations with vendors to achieve competitive pricing and favourable terms.
    • Perform financial analyses, including cost breakdowns, market intelligence, and benchmarking.
    • Manage contractual checkpoints throughout the execution of purchase orders.
    • Address and resolve vendor claims, ensuring effective settlements.
  • Support Supply Chain Effectiveness:
    • ​​​​​​​Leverage Group Framework Agreements (GFAs), Approved Vendor Lists, and market analyses to streamline procurement.
    • Escalate issues with strategic vendors and provide feedback to the Group Supply Chain.
    • Assist Category Managers in evaluating vendor performance and identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements Buyer

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally within the Oil & Gas or offshore industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement processes, contracts, and supply chain management.
  • Ability to analyse financial data, conduct market research, and ideally cost-saving opportunities.
  • Experience with vendor management and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office applications.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Team player who can collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and project requirements.
