Electrical Engineer

Do you have experience in using ETAP and E3D to deliver innovative electrical designs for offshore projects? Can you prepare specs for electrical systems like MCCs, switchgear, and UPS systems?

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to design and manage low and high-voltage power distribution systems for offshore platforms, conducting system studies, preparing specifications, and ensuring compliance with international codes and standards.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Develop detailed designs for low voltage (LV) power distribution systems for offshore platforms.
• Prepare electrical design deliverables such as cable lists, LV distribution block diagrams, lighting, and earthing layouts.
• Create termination diagrams, installation hookups, and mounting typicals for electrical systems.
• Conduct electrical system studies, including coordination studies and load analysis.
• Prepare specifications (specs) and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for electrical systems.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for LV systems like Motor Control Centers (MCC) switchgear, UPS systems, and LV distribution boards.
• Perform electrical system studies and provide solutions for high-voltage (HV) substations and power distribution systems.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international codes such as IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ISO, NFPA, NEMA, and API.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Use tools like ETAP, E3D, and Smart Plant Instrumentation for design and analysis.
• Collaborate with teams to optimise electrical system designs using advanced software.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (BSc or MSc) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years working in an engineering company, with at least 4 years of experience in an electrical engineering role.
• Proven experience in detailed engineering for greenfield LV power distribution systems.
• Experience in offshore platform design and HV substations.
• Expertise in LV systems, including MCC, switchgear, and UPS systems.
• Proficient in electrical system studies, coordination studies, and power distribution design.
• Strong knowledge of MV and HV power distribution systems.
• Familiarity with ETAP for electrical system studies.
• Experience using E3D and Smart Plant Instrumentation for electrical design.
• In-depth understanding of international electrical codes and standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE, ISO, NFPA, NEMA, API).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
