We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to lead the end-to-end design, integration and commissioning of electrical and control systems for advanced offshore lifting equipment, translating client requirements into compliant technical solutions while coordinating suppliers, documentation, testing, and on-site support throughout the project lifecycle.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Translate functional specifications into detailed electrical and control system designs for heavy-duty lifting equipment.
- Produce schematics, cable lists, load calculations and BOMs in EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical and keep them up-to-date through the project lifecycle.
- Specify, select, and procure LV/MV components, drives, PLC/SCADA hardware and safety devices in line with IEC/DNV/ATEX standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces with mechanical, hydraulic, and software teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Monitor engineering budgets, schedules, and change orders; report progress and technical risks to the project manager.
- Guide panel builders and external suppliers, review their documentation and perform factory-acceptance tests.
- Prepare test protocols, supervise commissioning on site (yard, quayside, and offshore) and resolve punch-list items.
- Deliver complete as-built documentation, CE conformity files and user manuals to the client and service department.
- Provide technical support during tenders and contribute to the continuous improvement of design rules and templates.
Requirements Electrical Project Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or a comparable discipline.
- 3-7 years' experience in engineering power and control systems for cranes, offshore equipment, wind-turbine tools or similar heavy machinery.
- Proficiency with EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical; familiarity with PLC/SCADA programming environments (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley).
- Solid knowledge of IEC 60204-1, IEC 60092, ATEX and functional safety (SIL/PL) requirements.
- Able to perform load-flow, short-circuit and selectivity studies and to size motors, drives and protection devices.
- Strong project coordination and supplier management skills; comfortable balancing cost, quality and schedule.
- Willingness to travel worldwide for FAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting (≈20% of the time)
- Fluent in English; Dutch or German is an advantage.
- VCA (Veiligheid, Gezondheid en Milieu) certificate or readiness to obtain it, and valid offshore medical & BOSIET preferred.
