Heavy Lift Engineer - Renewable Energy & Offshore Wind

We are looking for a Heavy Lift Engineer — Renewable Energy and Offshore Wind to design and manage the installation of large offshore wind structures, develop lifting solutions, and provide engineering support from concept to offshore execution.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Analyse and prepare project specifications for offshore transportation, installation operations, yard preparations, load-out, barge transfer, and tow operations.
• Prepare design calculations and detailed reports for all structural heavy lift design work within project scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop procedures and manuals for load-out, transfer, mooring, towing, installation, and transportation operations.
• Interface with project team, vessel crew, clients, subcontractors, certification authorities, and marine warranty surveyors to ensure efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Propose innovative solutions to support the company's role in the energy transition and offshore wind projects.
• Stay updated on developments in specialised equipment for offshore installation operations.
• Conduct FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and feasibility studies to identify optimal solutions for single-lift installation or removal of large topsides and jackets (>5,000 tonnes).
• Prepare method and execution statements for commercial bids on new projects.
• Design lifting gear, including spreader bars, rigging, pad eyes, and internal/external lifting tools.
• Perform platform inspections at fabrication yards to assess platform condition and the feasibility of proposed installation methodologies.
• Prepare factory acceptance and commissioning tests for project equipment.
• Provide on-site support during yard and offshore execution phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Maritime Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3-6 years of relevant experience (for medior level); 7+ years for senior level.
• Experience in offshore, oil & gas, marine, or heavy-lift industries is preferred.
• Affinity with the offshore renewables sector and an interest in the energy transition is a plus!
• Willingness to travel and work offshore as needed.
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong interest in the renewable energy industry and developments in offshore wind.
• A team player motivated by technical challenges and collaborative work.
• Self-starter with strong creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
