Instrumentation Designer

We are looking for an Instrumentation Designer to create and detail instrumentation systems for offshore platforms. This includes fire detection, telecommunications, and control systems while ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Assess client requirements, applicable standards, and regulations for projects.
• Coordinate with clients to ensure designs align with their expectations.
• Prepare detailed instrumentation design deliverables, including cable lists, block diagrams, layouts, and termination diagrams.
• Develop fire detection, telecommunication, and instrumentation layouts.
• Prepare and maintain instrumentation equipment layouts and loop diagrams.
• Provide input to 3D models and follow through on design execution.
• Use Smart Plant and E3D software to develop accurate instrumentation designs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines such as planning, process, mechanical, and weight control teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review and provide input on vendors' bids, documentation, and technical specifications.
• Prepare data sheets and requisition packages for new instrumentation components (e.g., valves, DCS, telecom systems).
• Contribute to the preparation of MTO (Mechanical Take-Off) and procurement documentation.
• Prepare various technical deliverables, including:
  • Cable routing diagrams
  • F&G (Fire & Gas) detection layouts
  • Block and connection diagrams
  • Installation and hookup typicals
  • Main cable trays and penetration layouts
• Ensure all designs adhere to project standards and safety regulations.
• Review and update project documentation to meet industry compliance.

• Minimum of 3 years working in an engineering company, specifically in greenfield projects.
• Proven experience in offshore platform design and HV substation projects.
• Background in detailed design for instruments, fire detection, and telecommunication systems.
• Proficiency in E3D and Smart Plant instrumentation software.
• Experience with telecom systems, such as CCTV, PAGA, door access control systems, WiFi, and local area networks.
• Skilled in preparing detailed deliverables like cable lists, block diagrams, termination diagrams, and installation layouts.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, equipment, and industry standards.
• Ability to prepare and review technical documentation, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent collaboration skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
