Lead Designer Structural

Are you a seasoned Structural Designer looking to take the lead on complex offshore projects? Can you collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for large-scale offshore wind installations?

We are looking for a Lead Structural Designer to drive the design and development of structural components for major offshore wind and EPC projects. This is a leadership role where you will oversee the structural design process, guide your team, and ensure that all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of structural designers, ensuring that all design tasks are completed on time and meet project requirements.
• Oversee the design and detailing of structural components, including foundations, substations, and topsides for offshore wind platforms.
• Work closely with project engineers and other discipline leads (e.g., mechanical, electrical) to develop integrated, cross-disciplinary solutions.
• Ensure that all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations, particularly those specific to offshore projects (e.g., DNV GL, Eurocodes).
• Prepare and review detailed technical drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Use advanced structural design software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, or equivalent) to create 3D models and detailed construction drawings.
• Identify and mitigate design risks, ensuring that solutions are practical, safe, and cost-effective.
• Act as the main point of contact doe structural design matters, addressing client queries and coordinating with other stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance during the installation and commissioning phases, ensuring smooth project execution.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8 years of structural design experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior design role, preferably within the offshore or EPC sectors.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD) and strong knowledge of offshore engineering standards and codes.
• Proven experience leading a team of designers and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• In-depth understanding of offshore wind and EPC project requirements, with experience designing for challenging marine environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions in high-pressure environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Dutch is a plus!
• Willingness to travel to project sites and provide on-site support when necessary.
