Lead E&I Designer

We are looking for a Lead E&I Designer to manage a team to design detailed electrical and instrumentation systems for offshore platforms, greenfield projects, and HV substations, using tools like Navisworks and Smart Plant to produce comprehensive design deliverables.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Lead a team of E&I designers and 3D designers on detailed engineering projects.
• Provide guidance and support to the team to ensure project success.
• Prepare detailed design deliverables such as cable lists, block diagrams, and layouts for instruments, telecom, fire detection, and LV distribution.
• Develop termination diagrams, installation hookups, mounting typical, and loop diagrams.
• Design layouts for small power, lighting, and earthing systems.
• Oversee detailed engineering design for greenfield projects involving low-voltage power distribution, lighting, earthing, and telecommunication.
• Work on offshore platform designs and HV substation projects.
• Coordinate design tasks using 3D modeling tools like Navisworks and Smart Plant instrumentation.
• Perform cable selection and calculations to ensure efficient design.
• Ensure all design deliverables meet project requirements and standards.

• Minimum of 5 years working in an engineering company.
• At least 4 years of experience in a lead designer role, managing E&I and 3D design projects.
• Strong background in greenfield instruments, fire detection, and detailed telecommunication design.
• Experience in greenfield low-voltage power distribution, lighting, and earthing design.
• Proven experience with offshore platform design and HV substations.
• Proficiency in preparing detailed design documents, including cable lists, block diagrams, and layouts.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as Navisworks.
• Expertise in Smart Plant instrumentation for detailed engineering projects.
• Strong leadership abilities to manage a team of designers effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently in a project-driven environment.
