We are looking for a Naval Architecture Engineer who can be responsible for designing and engineering naval architecture aspects of offshore floating structures, particularly FPSOs, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with classification societies, and contributing to project management as a Discipline Lead Engineer (DLE).

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Provide naval architectural engineering and design across various stages including studies, proposals, technology development, Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPCI projects.
  • Handle tasks such as loading and stability analysis, accommodation design, deck equipment layout, and lifesaving equipment specifications.
  • Support the shipyard bidding process and procurement efforts, perform inclining experiments, and contribute to the overall design of floaters, particularly during new build projects and concept phases.
  • Act as a DLE, managing a team of 3-4 naval architects and several designers/drafters, overseeing project management functions within the discipline.
  • Work closely with related disciplines such as marine systems, E&I, piping, HVAC, process, and technical safety to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Focus on maintaining and expanding naval architectural knowledge and expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective designs.

Requirements Naval Architecture Engineer

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, or an equivalent professional certification.
  • At least 7 years in naval architecture, with preferred experience working on floating and production units like FPSOs, FSOs, oil & gas and chemical tankers, drilling units, semis, and TLPs.
  • In-depth knowledge of both conceptual and detailed design in naval architecture.
  • Familiarity with rules of classification societies such as ABS, DNV, GL, BV, and Lloyd's and compliance with international organisational standards.
  • Proper implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental policies.
  • Good interface knowledge with related disciplines, ensuring effective communication and project integration.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous learning and skill enhancement, including intercontinental travel as required by project demands.
  • Ability to manage flexible working hours and accessibility to the office by both car and public transport.
