Process Lead Engineer

We are looking for a Process Lead Engineer to lead process engineering efforts, improve design tools and guidelines, and oversee project execution while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with industry standards for offshore oil and gas projects, particularly FPSOs.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Lead and contribute to the expertise and knowledge within the Process Engineering discipline.
• Develop and improve corporate process engineering calculation tools and guidelines.
• Provide support to ongoing projects, focusing on quality and efficiency improvements.
• Take lead in proposals, preparing discipline hour estimates for EPC projects.
• Lead and participate in design review meetings and HAZOP review meetings.
• Conduct quality audits for the process discipline, ensuring compliance with technical standards corporate processes, and work instructions.
• Evaluate and incorporate project lessons learned to improve guidelines and work processes.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers to ensure knowledge transfer and application of best engineering practices.
• Develop key process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment and instrument datasheets, SAFE charts, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and Process Safeguarding documentation.
• Interface with related engineering disciplines such as Piping, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Safety & Loss Prevention.
• Collaborate with discipline leads and management to optimise engineering methodologies for fast-track project execution.
• Act as a partner to the Discipline Manager and serve as a deputy when required.

• At least 15 years of relevant experience, including conceptual design, FEED, and EPC project experience for offshore oil & gas projects, preferably FPSO.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a lead engineer role.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals, process safety, and preparation of high-quality engineering documents.
• Experience managing a large team of process engineers (typically 25-30 engineers).
• Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers and guide senior engineers in new methods and processes.
• Proficiency in developing process engineering documents like PTDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and process safeguarding documentation.
• Experience with intelligent P&IDs and engineering databases.
• Good interface knowledge with related disciplines, including Piping, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Safety & Loss Prevention.
• Familiarity with international standards such as API, ISO, ASME, and IEC.
• Experience with design review methods such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments.
• Proficient in process simulation using Hysys or UniSim software.
• Proactive, self-driven, and comfortable taking initiative.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to collaborate with and replace the Discipline Manager when required (deputy role).
