Can you lead commercial negotiations, manage vendor relationships, and oversee the successful delivery of critical purchase orders?

We are looking for a Project Procurement Lead to manage the end-to-end procurement process for project purchase orders, including vendor qualification, negotiation, contract management, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods and services while mitigating risks and optimising costs.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Familiarise with Vendor Qualification (VQ) processes and manage vendor qualification status.
- Escalate issues with Strategic/Key Vendors and suggest improvements for Global Strategic Sourcing.
- Collaborate with Package Engineers (PKE) to understand the technical requirements of purchase orders (POs).
- Develop and implement a Procurement Strategy in line with lessons learned and input from Category Managers.
- During the procurement process, including RFQ preparation, bid evaluation, and vendor selection, ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Measure savings realised through the Procurement Category Strategy.
- Conduct PO health checks using multidisciplinary input and lessons learned.
- Oversee successful delivery of POs, including Vendor Manufacturing Management (VMM) process and dashboard reporting.
- Manage commercial and contractual negotiations with support from Buyers and Category Managers.
- Ensure quality controls during vendor manufacturing processes are followed per inspection and quality requirements.
- Monitor vendor performance and provide continuous feedback to Category Managers.
- Report PO progress to the Project Procurement Manager throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop vendor quality awareness and ensure vendor activities align with project priorities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for package quality issues and define corrective actions.
- Rate vendor performance based on their PO execution.
- Proactively manage potential risks such as schedule, cost, quality, and contract issues.
- Organise and lead handover session with the completion team for each PO.
- Support construction, integration, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Provide commercial support during PO execution, including negotiation of Variation Orders.
- Draft communication for deviations from commercial terms, such as Defect, Force Majeure. and Delay claims.
- Lead claim negotiations with vendors up to settlements, ensuring alignment with company interests.
- Manage commercial PO close-out and ensure vendor performance during project completion stages.
Requirements Project Procurement Lead
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in project procurement within the offshore, shipbuilding, or energy industries.
- Proven experience with vendor qualification processes, procurement strategy development, and purchase order management.
- Strong understanding of Vendor Manufacturing Management (VMM) processes.
- Proficiency in procurement methodologies, including RFQ preparation, bid evaluations, and contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of quality assurance and inspection requirements in project procurement.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
- Familiarity with project management principles and best practices.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel for project requirements and vendor meetings.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and procurement software/tools.
