Quality Excellence Engineer

Can you identify and mitigate quality risks in complex engineering projects? Do you have experience leading quality audits and investigations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational performance?

We are looking for a Quality Excellence Engineer to ensure the effective execution of quality assurance processes, supplier and yard qualifications, internal and external audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, while promoting compliance with industry standards and fostering a culture of quality excellence across the organisation.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Review quality assurance documentation for supplier and yard qualifications, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve quality processes and documentation.
• Plan and conduct internal, certification, and qualification audits, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
• Analyse quality performance data, generate reports, and provide updates on quality excellence activities.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance department performance and efficiency.
• Support organisation-wide improvement programs and align them with broader business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with GEMS (Global Enterprise Management System) and enhance quality assurance processes.
• Participate in independent quality investigations outside project activities, supporting root cause analysis.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for quality improvement strategies.
• Integrate quality assurance requirements into tenders and proposals, ensuring documentation accuracy.
• Collaborate with different departments to enhance quality standards and drive operational excellence.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness across the organisation.
• Develop and deliver training programs on quality assurance processes and procedures.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field focused on quality management.
• Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 2 years in a senior-level role.
• Strong background in project management fundamentals, engineering principles, lifecycle assurance, and construction processes.
• Proven experience in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001, ISO/IEC 80079-34) and related best practices.
• Experience in quality investigations, non-conformance handling, and major quality incident resolution.
• Hands-on knowledge of root cause analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Expertise in welding, coating, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), preservation, and explosive atmosphere (Ex) standards.
• Additional certifications in these areas are a plus!
