We are looking for a Senior Instrumentation & Automation Engineer to support large-scale offshore and energy projects, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient control system designs. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising instrumentation and automation solutions that meet industry standards and project requirements.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Develop and implement instrumentation and automation solutions for offshore platforms, HV substations, and energy facilities.
- Design and specify DCS, PLC, SCADA, and SIS systems, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Create instrumentation schematics, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and technical specifications.
- Perform control systems architecture design, ensuring seamless integration with offshore operations.
- Oversee instrumentation and automation aspects throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEC, ATEX, NORSOK, and ISO.
- Work closely with process, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.
- Provide technical expertise to resolve automation-related challenges during engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
- Ensure all instrumentation and automation designs meet safety and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and functional safety analyses for offshore automation systems.
- Optimise control system performance to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in offshore automation and control technologies.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
Requirements Senior Instrumentation & Automation Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Engineering.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in instrumentation and automation engineering.
- Proven experience working on offshore platforms, FPSOs, HV substations, or oil & gas facilities.
- Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SCADA, and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
- Experience with field instrumentation, including flow, pressure, temperature, and level measurement.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classification (ATEX, IECEx), and functional safety (SIL) analysis, HAZOP, LOPA.
- Proficiency in Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI), E3D, and other engineering design tools is a plus!
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities, working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced offshore project environment.
- Offshore safety certifications such as BOSIET, HUET, GWO, or equivalent are an advantage!
- Willingness to travel offshore when required for project execution and commissioning.
- Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a plus!
