Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for offshore wind projects, including offshore substations, wind turbine foundations, and auxiliary mechanical equipment. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, efficient, and innovative mechanical designs that meet industry and safety standards.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimise mechanical systems for offshore wind substations, wind turbine foundations, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform stress, fatigue, and thermal analysis for offshore components and ensure structural integrity.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
• Oversee the mechanical aspects of offshore wind projects, from concept design to execution.
• Provide technical expertise and support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the highest quality mechanical components.
• Coordinate with structural, electrical, and marine engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
• Support cross-functional teams in optimising offshore wind project designs.
• Conduct risk assessments and propose solutions to potential mechanical system failures.
• Provide troubleshooting support for mechanical challenges during project execution.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on offshore wind, renewable energy, or offshore structures.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and offshore structures.
• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), and fatigue analysis is a plus.
• Familiarity with offshore standards, such as DNV, IEC, ISO, and API.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
• Previous experience in offshore wind energy projects is highly preferred.
• Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing. Dutch is a plus!
• Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, vendor meetings, and offshore commissioning activities.
