We are looking for an HSE Engineer to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across projects, promoting a positive HSE culture and managing risks to support safe and sustainable offshore operations.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Promote the "Work Safe Home Safe" program to enhance a safety culture.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the management systems.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients on HSE-related matters.
  • Engage with vessels, worksites, and suppliers to promote HSE culture, increase awareness, and gather feedback.
  • Manage HSE risks on worksites and ensure verification of critical controls.
  • Facilitate risk review sessions with clients, worksites, and suppliers.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Conduct audits and inspections at supplier sites, worksites, and offshore vessels.
  • Provide HSE familiarisation and training sessions.
  • Maintain legal compliance registers.
  • Deliver project-specific HSE requirements and documentation.
  • Capture and use lessons learned to improve safety and integrity consistently.
  • Monitor and report supplier HSE performance.
  • Report project HSE performance to the Business Unit Management Team.
  • Collaborate with project teams and HSE peers on all HSE matters.

Requirements HSE Engineer

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant practical experience in engineering or operations; ability to obtain HSE competency (e.g., NEBOSH) on the job.
  • Experience in a similar position within the maritime industry, shipping, offshore construction, or renewable wind sector is advantageous.
  • Experience with ISO 45001-based safety management systems, legal compliance, and risk management.
  • Ability to write project HSE documentation and assess third-party HSE management systems (auditor qualification preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to write clear and coherent reports in English.
  • Proactive and self-starting mentality.
  • Flexibility to adapt and collaborate with various stakeholders and teams.
