Profile Instrumentation Engineer

Do you have experience in designing and implementing advanced instrumentation systems for offshore and HV substation projects?

We are looking for an Instrumentation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex instrumentation systems for offshore platforms and HV substations. You will ensure project specifications and safety standards are met.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed instrumentation design deliverables, including cable lists, block diagrams, layouts, termination diagrams, installation hookups, mounting typical, and loop diagrams.
  • Prepare specifications, technical bid evaluations (TBE), and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for SCADA/DCS systems, telecommunication systems (e.g., CCTV, PAGA, radio systems, LAN, WiFi), and fire and gas detection systems.
  • Manage instrumentation engineering activities for Greenfield automation and telecommunication projects.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration and alignment of instrumentation systems with overall project requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of instrumentation systems on offshore platforms and HV substations.
  • Ensure all instrumentation engineering deliverables meet industry standards, client specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Perform quality checks and validation of engineering designs and deliverables using AVEVA E3D and Smart Plant Instrumentation.
  • Provide technical support during the procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation and control system issues in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including Cause and Effect diagrams, Control Narratives, and Network architecture diagrams.
  • Generate and review technical reports, specifications, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers to evaluate products, negotiate technical specifications, and oversee manufacturing processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in instrumentation engineering.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering processes and deliverables.

Requirements Instrumentation Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience working for an Engineering company.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in Greenfield automation and telecommunication detailed engineering.
  • Experience with offshore platform design.
  • Experience with HV substations design.
  • Experience in preparing spec, TBE and attending FAT for SCADA/DCS system.
  • Experience in preparing spec, TBE and attending FAT for telecommunication systems like CCTV, PAGA, radio systems, LAN, WiFi, etc.
  • Experience in preparing spec, TBE and attending FAT for fire and gas detection systems.
  • Experience in preparing instrumentation detailed design deliverables, such as:
    • Cablelists.
    • Instrument/telecom/fire detection block diagrams.
    • Instrument telecom/fire detection layouts.
    • Termination diagrams.
    • Installation of typical hookups.
    • Mounting typicals.
    • Loop diagrams.
  • Proficient in preparing engineering deliverables, such as:
    • Cause and Effect.
    • Control Narratives.
    • Network architecture diagrams.
  • Familiar with AVEVA E3D.
  • Proficient in Smart Plant Instrumentation.
