We are looking for a Project Manager specialising in electricity to ensure the safe, timely, and high-quality completion of tasks within the Princess Elisabeth Island project. This role involves managing work packages, coordinating technical activities, leading a team, and providing technical support for the long-term project.

Tasks & responsibilities:

As part of the Princess Elisabeth Island team:

  • Act as a safety leader, continuously looking for safety enhancements.
  • Ensure timely delivery, quality, and safety of assigned tasks.
  • Seek design opportunities to bring additional benefits to the project.
  • Report proactively and regularly on the status and progress of responsibilities.
  • Independently manage and implement specific work packages.
  • Engage with relevant contractors, suppliers, and internal experts where required.

As Project Engineer Primary Systems:

  • Part of the "HVDC System & Onshore Substation" Package, reporting to the Package Manager.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team including Project Leaders, Project Engineers, Experts, Procurement Officers, HSE Advisors, PMO Officers, etc.).
  • Assist the Package Manager in delivering the Primary Systems (e.g., HV equipment of the HVDC substations (offshore and onshore).

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all technical and engineering tasks of the Discipline.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of experts.
  • Act as SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for the Primary Systems.
  • Timely review design, engineering, material, and project documents related to the Discipline.
  • Participate in relevant technical discipline and project design review workshops.
  • Propose and ensure an inherently safe and ergonomic design.
  • Participate in relevant production inspections and witness relevant FAT.
  • Perform inspections on the onshore Site (Herdersbrug) and confirm Mechanical COmpletion of relevant installations and equipment.
  • Witness relevant commissioning activities on the Onshore Site.
  • Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams.
  • Consult and align with relevant stakeholders and experts/engineers.
  • Check and proactively report conformance or non-conformance to relevant parts of the Laws, Employer's Requirements, and Technical Standards.
  • Perform regular reports regarding Discipline status and progress, including risks, opportunities, and issues.
  • Cooperate on the interfaces between the Primary Systems and the rest of the Project.

Requirements Project Manager Electricity

  • Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent by experience.
  • Experience with HVDC projects is a plus.
  • Highly motivated to work in a team and cooperate with others.
  • Excellent communicator (verbally, written, and strong listener).
  • Organised and results-oriented.
  • Assertive and good at facilitating consensus.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Quick learner.
  • Driven by innovative entrepreneurship and not deterred by challenges.
  • Proactive and a problem-solver.
  • Ability to prioritise and act accordingly.
  • Ability to work in an international project environment.
  • Fluent in English (verbally and in writing); Dutch and/or French are a plus.
