We are looking for a Senior Cost Engineer to oversee tender activities and cost estimation for projects.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for projects.
  • Analyse project specifications and requirements to create accurate cost predictions.
  • Prepare and manage tender documents and submissions.
  • Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor bids.
  • Monitor and control project budgets to ensure alignment with cost estimates.
  • Identify and address any budget discrepancies or overruns.
  • Conduct risk assessments related to cost estimation and tender activities.
  • Implement strategies to mitigate financial risks.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Procurement teams.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure cost-related objectives are met.
  • Analyse historical data and market trends to improve cost estimation accuracy.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and records.
  • Generate detailed cost reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Provide regular updates on cost performance and potential savings opportunities.
  • Ensure all cost estimation and tender activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry standards and best practices.

Requirements Senior Cost Engineer

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial), Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cost engineering, estimating, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience with tender activities and managing large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera, Microsoft Project).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • ability to interpret and analyse complex data and project specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in cost estimations and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in cost engineering and tender processes.
