Senior SCADA Engineer

We are looking for a Senior SCADA Engineer to design, implement, and optimise SCADA and automation systems, ensuring efficient and reliable operations for offshore platforms and substations. You will join the Instrumentation Departments and support large-scale offshore and renewable energy projects.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Develop, configure and maintain SCADA, HMI, and automation control systems for offshore platforms and energy projects.
• Ensure system integration between SCADA, PLCs, and other control systems.
• Design and implement communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, OPC, and IEC 61850.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA-related issues during project execution and operation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, NORSOK, API, and cybersecurity best practices).
• Implement redundancy and fail-safe measures for high-availability SCADA networks.
• Work closely with instrumentation, IT, Electrical, and Operations teams to ensure seamless SCADA integration.
• Provide technical expertise to support project teams, vendors, and subcontractors.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with SCADA systems, automation, and industrial control networks.
• Experience in designing, configuring, and maintaining SCADA, HMI, and PLC systems.
• Strong knowledge of communication protocols (Modus, DNP3, OPC, IEC 61850),
• Familiarity with offshore energy systems, HV substations, and automation networks is a plus!
• Problem-solving mindset with a strong analytical approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus!
