Telecommunication Engineer

We are looking for a Telecommunication Engineer to design, implement, and manage telecommunication systems for offshore platforms and HV substations, including detailed engineering of networks, transmission systems, and telecommunication equipment while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Tasks & responsibilities:

• Develop conceptual, basic, and detailed designs for telecommunication systems in greenfield projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering deliverables, including cable lists, telecom layouts, termination diagrams, installation hookups, and mounting typicals.
• Create network architecture diagrams, network cable infrastructure layouts, and telecom block diagrams.
• Design and optimise OT (Operational Technology) networks and telecommunication systems for offshore platforms.
• Work with transmission systems like SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) and OTN (Optical Transport Network).
• Implement telecommunication systems for offshore platforms and HV substations.
• Conduct system studies, specifications, and Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) for telecommunication equipment.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for telecommunication systems to ensure compliance and functionality.
• Provide expertise in CCTV, PAGA, UHF/VHF, TETRA, LAN, WiFi, DACS, METEO systems, VSAT, and LOS.
• Ensure all designs adhere to relevant standards and project specifications.
• Use tools like E3D and Smart Plant Instrumentation for design and documentation.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (BSc or MSc( in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years working in an engineering company.
• At least 4 years of experience in a telecommunication engineering role, specifically in greenfield projects.
• Strong experience in designing telecommunication and OT networks for offshore platforms.
• Proficient in preparing specifications, conducting TBEs, and attending FAT for telecom systems.
• Extensive knowledge of telecommunication systems, including CCTV, PAGA, UHF/VHF, TETRA, LAN, WiFi, and other communicaition technologies.
• Knowledge of transmission systems like SDH and OTN.
• Familiar with 3D modeling tools like E3D.
• Proficient in Smart Plant Instrumentation for telecommunication design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to prepare detailed engineering documentation and design deliverables.
